Lived Experience Archive Exhibition – Project Update

About the Project

Cornwall Lived Experience Partnership (CLEP) and Kresen Kernow are thrilled to collaborate on an exciting exhibition project set to launch in June 2025. This initiative aims to amplify voices that are often unheard by connecting lived experiences with Cornwall’s historical records.

Our goal is to make archives more accessible, celebrate the diversity of Cornwall’s communities, and encourage meaningful discussions about fairness, representation, and what it means to be heard. By engaging directly with archival materials, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the past and shape a more inclusive future for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Exploring the Archives – Shaping the Exhibition

As part of this project, we will host three interactive workshops at Kresen Kernow in April and May 2025. These sessions will provide participants with the chance to explore archival materials, uncover hidden histories, and share their personal perspectives.

Participants will contribute their thoughts, reflections, and creative expressions to co-curate an exhibition that will be integrated into Kresen Kernow’s main exhibition programme for 2025. The exhibition will run for four months across two primary display areas, ensuring that these stories reach a wide audience.

Community Involvement & Impact

This project is more than just an exhibition – it’s an opportunity to ensure that diverse lived experiences shape how Cornwall’s history is told. By working closely with communities, we hope to:

  • Make archives more accessible – Encouraging those who may not typically engage with archival materials to discover and connect with Cornwall’s history.
  • Celebrate diverse voices – Ensuring a broad range of perspectives are represented in the exhibition.
  • Foster dialogue about change – Using history as a lens to explore the present and future of inclusion and representation in Cornwall.

Join the Conversation

We invite people from all walks of life to participate in this exciting journey. Workshop participants will be compensated for their time, and their contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the final exhibition.

If you’re interested in being part of this project, stay tuned for updates on how to get involved. Whether you want to share your thoughts, explore the archives, or help curate the exhibition, we would love to hear from you!
